Mallory Knox - Asymmetry
二回目のMallory Knoxになりますが、今回は2ndアルバムの「Asymmetry」について紹介していきたいと思います。
2014年1月、メンバーはEnglandのBathにあるスタジオでレコーディングを開始。しかし、「Ghost in the Mirror」のレコーディング中、スタジオのProducerが曲を勝手に編集したことがきっかけとなり、メンバーとの意見のすれ違いが度々起こるようになった。そのため、メンバーでの話し合いの末、バンドは別のスタジオへ移ることを決断。その後はドラムを２週間で録り終えるなど順調に作業は進み、4月にはレコーディングを全て完了することとなった。
2014年10月にリリースし、UK Albums Cheatで16位を記録。その後、BBC Radioの生放送にてLive演奏を披露したりと、積極的に活動をしていました。

このアルバムでは、ギターの二人（JoeとJames）がGibsonのLesPaulに持ち替えた影響なのか、曲の雰囲気に少し重圧感というか哀愁のようなものを感じました。前作「Signals」はどちらかというとさらっとしてる、もしくはあっさりとした雰囲気だったと記憶しています。
また、Post-HardcoreよりのRockなので、Young GunsやLostprophetsなどを聴いていた人は、はまるのではないかと思います(￣ー￣)
歌詞の内容は、片思いやすれ違い、後悔など、Mikeyが歌いそして語る新たな恋愛模様を感じることができることと思います。
